On Saturday, March 9th, 2019, MWB Jess N. Raines, the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Ohio and the Grand Lodge officers will be in the Fabulous 14th District for this year’s Grand Master’s Reception. The reservation and sponsorship forms, which include all of the details for the evening, have already been distributed to Worshipful Masters and Secretaries.  The location of the reception is new this year, and will now be held at the Makoy Center, located at 5462 Center Street, Hilliard, Ohio 43026. Reservations for the buffet dinner are $40 per person and must be received by February 23rd, 2019. No reservations will be accepted after this date so please plan accordingly.

Social hour will begin at 5:30pm with introductions beginning precisely at 6:30pm. Dinner will be entrée choices of chef carved London broil, chicken parmesan, ricotta stuffed shells and will be accompanied by a house salad, rolls and butter, roasted redskin potatoes, roasted zucchini, yellow squash, and red bell peppers, along with chocolate or vanilla cake for dessert.  Coffee, tea, and water are included, and a cash bar available for the evening.

This is a great way to experience some quality fellowship with old friends, meet new ones and possibly reacquaint yourself with old friends you have not seen in some time. When a lodge has a group of members and their wives at these events it seems to bring them closer together and create a family atmosphere, which also helps with the working relationships in lodge. It is also a chance to show your wife or significant other just how much you appreciate all the time she is willing to share you with your lodge.

The following is part of the Grand Lodge's new promotional campaign, YOU Are Ohio Freemasonry. Here are some talking points to help share the enthusiasm. Look for more details in the near future.

Be Proud!

Freemasonry is thriving in Ohio. We have more than 450 lodges across the state that are helping good men become even better each and every day by teaching respect, kindness and tolerance. Each year, the Grand Lodge welcomes over 1,000 men who join and discover the benefits of Fraternity.

Freemasonry is a Brotherhood.

As you know, being a Mason is about building true friendships, often with like-minded men whom one may otherwise never meet. As friends and brothers we share a desire to bond and improve ourselves by doing good in the world/

Culture of Giving Back.

Masons make a profound difference in Ohio. Each year, we devote countless hours and over a million dollars to help in our own backyard. It's little things like spaghetti dinners, bake sales and collecting donations that make huge differences in people's lives.
